Stamford, Connecticut—the city that never sleeps. Wait, that’s not right. Driving south along Interstate 95, the green highway sign that grows larger as you near the city politely informs commuters that Stamford is The City That Works! No doubt this would be a clever pun, if only we didn’t share the same slogan with Grand Rapids, Michigan, Portland, Oregon, and Chicago, Illinois. And it’s not even Chicago’s official saying, they somehow earned it by reputation. Imagine that.
However, it’s been said that more people—many more people—are actually employed in Stamford than reside. So in that regard, our clever tagline actually does make sense. But for those of us who do spend the majority of our time here, who sleep here, Stamford is more than a place to work. (There’s making use of that witty play on words.) This site is the opportunity for several us to begin to share our appreciation, to showcase our work, and to display the best of what we find here. We’ve chosen photography to do that. Each post will be short and to the point. Unless of course, we have more to say—In which case, the post will be sort of short and to the point.
Our goal at We Can’t Stop is to keep creating. Every contributing member is in some way involved in the world of visual arts. We also eat, sleep, and work in Stamford, and it is with those shared activities in mind that we came together to continue to inspire and inform readers of what we have found in Stamford. If you, your art, your business, your dog—if anything—is posted on this site, way to go! That just means we found something about you inspiring. If you would like to share something with us, anything, just let us know: info@wecantstop.com.
This blog, and caffeine, allows us to keep going at an alarming rate. Scary, we know. Lucky for us, Stamford takes the time to sleep, and that allows us to go home and provide you with content and inspiration until the wee hours. We hope you enjoy!
One last thing, in 1692, Stamford was home to it’s very own witch trial, not unlike those in Salem. We discovered this fact on Wikipedia. So, you know, just providing you with up-to-date content, because that’s what we do.
