Los Angeles

Katie and I doing what we do best – just having fun. We spent the last day of our trip hanging out with her at Mimosa beach. By Mimosa, I mean Hermosa.

On Thursday, we visited with John’s cousin Julijan, his girlfriend Kim, and their newest addition, Eva! It was great to see you guys!

Heading south from Big Sur, we pulled over to see how the Elephant Seals were doing. They’re doing fine.

On another note, this is our very last post, as our vacation is officially over. We didn’t plan anything special for our last post because, frankly, we’re just sad. It was an amazing trip, and we look forward to heading back out on the road starting…

Big Sur

You know, just whale watching from our camp site at Kirk Creek.

A quick hike to McWay Falls.

San Francisco

We started our trip to San Francisco at the Museum of Modern Art. I really wanted to see the New Topographics exhibit, unfortunately, no pictures allowed. Next, we headed over to Swan Oyster Depot for some raw shell fish. MMMMMMM.

Of course, we had to visit the home of our favorite sitcom family. Don’t let me find out you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Can you find the man hiding at Fisherman’s Wharf?

Leaving Napa

On Monday Kristen met up with her old pal Carter. Thanks for breakfast, Rebecca!

Wine Tasting

That’s Damien in the middle. He’s a bit wacko, but really awesome at pouring vino. He let us get behind the bar, and then took us on a tour of the caves they use to store their barrels. Kristen and I managed to taste a bit of Mendicino, Sonoma, and Napa in two days. Not bad.

Redwoods

Walking among the Redwoods is like walking among really old men. Over 2,000 years old, these noble trees have seen history.

This isn’t the original – that one fell over in 1962. It was actually a Sequoia in Yosemite. There are currently three privately-owned drive-through trees. We had to visit at least one.

Crater Lake

Drop a line at the deepest point in Crater Lake, and you’d be waiting quite a while to reach bottom. At 2,000 feet deep, it’s the deepest lake in America. And the bluest.

Portland

We also had a doughnut with bacon on it. Thanks, Portland!
