Fire on the Merritt

Of course you know this caused rubber-necking delays for hours. The Merritt Parkway has limited shoulder room, and so nobody neared the right lane, as you can see. It couldn’t have helped that I slowed down in the left lane to take this picture. But I’ll have you know that my approach was tactical: I sped ahead as much as I could, slowed down to take the picture, then gassed it again. It was trivial though, because another jam began just a mile down the road. The good news is, nobody was hurt during the making of this photo.
