The police officer racially profiled you. That's all. The truth is that you can take pictures of anything if you're standing in a public place. And you don't have to talk to cops if you don't want to. If they want to search you or do a custodial stop, they need reasonable suspicion (short of probable cause), and if all you're doing is taking pictures of the dry cleaners, then there's nothing suspicious going on. If you remember the cop's name, you should report him to the Stamford PD's internal affairs unit. What was he doing at Summer & North anyway? It's a good three blocks away from the nearest Dunkin' Donuts.

All in all, consider yourself lucky. He could have whipped out his cell phone and shown you a picture of his penis, as Stamford cops are prone to do these days (see, e.g., Fri Apr 15 2011 edition of The Advocate).

Pathetic, I know. But it's starting to get warmer, I may start to venture out further again. Why don't you send in some photos from another area? We will post them!

for someone who seems to spend his entire time in the area bounded by Franklin St, Broad St, Summer St and Washington Blvd, your ignorance is impressive. Hats off to you, sir!

it's a street parallel to Franklin Street. The white stucco house in the background of this photo is on Stanley Court.
